About us

We have had over 10 years experience working together in the UK hospitality industry since 2015 when we purchased a boarded up and neglected old Devon village pub and over the ensuing years returned it to its former glory.

2015 to 2025 saw swinging changes to the UK hospitality industry which of course included the effects of the Covid pandemic but this in fact gave us the opportunity to reinvent ourselves so we became more “hands on”, compiling our own menu with new dishes coupled with forming additional guest accommodation.  Over this latter period we created a very special & intimate guest experience at The Molesworth - whether drinking, dining or staying – and we received numerous excellent 5 star reviews culminating in us being awarded in 2024 a TripAdvisor award as being in the top 10% of restaurants in the world & 9.8 with Booking.com for our 3 ensuite rooms. Last year we decided that we would sell up and move to New Zealand (which is home for Monique and she had the good grace to take her UK husband with her!).

We have managed to purchase our dream home here in the Bay of Islands which is now set up so that we can offer a unique self-catering stay in our fully furnished and equipped off-grid detached Studio which enjoys stunning views over the Pacific Ocean and the Cavalli Islands.

Although the Studio is fully self-catering we do offer the opportunity for guests to join us in the main house for breakfasts and, if required, evening dinners also (full details and pricing provided on request).

Later this year we will be opening up two new rooms, in the main house - the rose room & the lemon room, both have views out to the pacific ocean. These new rooms will be bed & breakfast accommodation (again with an option for evening meals).
